GMC Reveals the Next-Generation 2020 Sierra Heavy Duty

As we begin the turn into the next decade, GMC will be ramping up its heavy-duty offerings with the next-generation 2020 GMC Sierra. The company revealed the truck in an official press release, calling it “the most capable heavy-duty truck we’ve ever offered.”

The new Sierra HD lineup will come with a plethora of advancements, beginning with an enhanced ProGrade Trailering system that can produce a class-leading 15 different camera angles from which to view your truck and the load it’s carrying. What’s also amazing is that one of these views is a segment-first transparent trailer view allowing you to see through the trailer you’re towing.

Another of the 2020 Sierra’s biggest innovations is the MultiPro, the world’s first six-function tailgate. It will give Canton and Akron owners easier loading, unloading, and bed access capabilities and instantly tops anything the competition has developed to date. The MultiPro tailgate is available on all trim levels, so you aren’t stuck having to pay a premium for such a revolutionary feature.

GMC will also be continuing the marriage between the Duramax turbo diesel engine and Allison Transmission with the 2020 Sierra HD. However, this time the truck will feature a ten-speed automatic transmission, a first for the heavy-duty pickup segment.

The 2020 Sierra Heavy Duty is slated to go on sale for Cuyahoga Falls and Massillon drivers sometime in the late summer of 2019. As always, you’ll be able to test drive the next-gen Sierra HD at our conveniently located dealership in North Canton. You can expect to hear more details about this exciting heavy-duty truck in the months ahead, so stay tuned.
